Furnace ventilation

The install of the furnace vent is too low and not to code.

Alpine Homes has installed the furnace ventilation against code. The code says at least 12 inches above grade or 12 inches above expected snow level. They installed it about 4 inches above grade. They did not even take into account the snow level. Here in Utah I can expect at least a regular foot of snow on the ground for most of the winter.

I have noticed ever since I moved in to my Alpine Homes built home that the area around the furnace is always covered in debris from outside. I would usually just clean it up thinking this was not a problem. Well I got tired of everything in that area getting covered in debris so I looked it up and found that there is a code that says to place this vent higher so this doesn't happen. I am not sure how they will even be able to fix this without putting something aweful on the back of my home to divert the air. I expect Alpine Homes to fix this. This is just another example of things being incorrectly done.

Anyway I opened another warranty request with Alpine Homes. Lets see if this one takes less than the 3 months it took the last one.
