Another Failed Attempt

Alpine Homes tried again to come by and fix the damage that was done from a poorly installed window. It has been almost 3 months of them working on this.

Alpine Homes sent out a painter today that didn't have any paint to do the work he needed to do. I was called by an Alpine Homes worker the other day asking if I had any paint left from the home build. I told him that all that was left was an empty grey paint bucket which I think was thrown away. The white trim color I didn't even have an empty bucket. Then the painter shows up today to paint and asks me where the paint is. This is another example of the kind of communication that goes on at Alpine Homes.

This process of getting the warranty repair for the water damage has been completely absurd. Alpine Homes was quick to come and diagnose the problem which was done within a couple of days. It is now going on the third month and they still aren't done. This is what they have done to fix the problem(each a different visit):

  1. Window is leaking water - April 27th - we notified Alpine Homes
  2. Diagnosed - within a couple of days
  3. Fix the holes in the window with plastic welding - within a week or so.
  4. Send Alpine Homes guy to assess the wall/molding damage
  5. Guys came to tear out the trim and replace it but found mold under it and didn't feel good about continuing.
  6. Send out sheetrock guy to mud the wall - oops didn't fix the moldy wall yet
  7. Send out another guy to assess the mold issue and tear out drywall
  8. Send out the molding guys to fix the molding - oops the drywall isn't in
  9. Send out another guy to clean the mold and replace the insulation
  10. The drywaller comes back to do drywall and mud
  11. The drywaller comes back to sand it
  12. The molding guys come back to do the molding
  13. And this brings us to today July 13th (2.5 months later) - Send out the painter with no paint
