An additional slap in the face

Alpine wasn't done punishing me for buying a home from them. They had one last easter egg to give us for Christmas.

Alpine Homes still had not installed our garage door opener in the final days. They assured us it would be done by the time we moved in. It was on our contract explicitly so I expected it to be there. We picked up the keys to our new home and the opener was installed and working.

The next day I am trying to figure out how to program the remotes and I read the specs for our new opener that Alpine Homes chose for us. I then realized they installed an opener that is meant for a smaller garage. This opener struggles to lift our garage and is guaranteed to wear out long before it should. The manufacturer suggests a motor with at least a half horsepower motor to open our two car garage door. Alpine Homes gave us the 1/3 hp version. Pretty much on par for how our experience has been with Alpine Homes. I don't know why I expected any different.

Thanks Alpine Homes for this final gesture of good will. As if my experience wasn't bad enough up to this point.
